Description:
Bousada was recently part of a major 2 phase construction plan at IOOF Seniors Homes in Barrie, ON. The project was initiated in order to meet new government design standards that addressed the changing needs of the elderly. Phase 1 consisted of a $25 million dollar 96 bed long term care facility and phase 2 will involve the renovation of one of their current Homes. Bousada supplied and installed the flooring for all of the bedrooms, the common areas as well as the main lobby.
Job Details:
- 8,000 square yards of ceramic tile in washrooms
- 5,000 square feet of vinyl sheet flooring and flash cover
- 300 square yards of carpet
Project Challenges to Overcome:
- Required careful sensitivity due to the intended nature of the facility
Background:
The IOOF Seniors Home is a non-profit charitable organization currently operating several facilities located in Barrie, Ontario. The Organization provides a continuum of care for seniors aged 60 years and over from totally independant living to supportive housing, rent-geared-to-income housing and long-term care. |
