    Square One Shopping Centre

    Mississauga, ON | Shopping Mall

    Description:

Transforming Canada’s busiest shopping destination was one of our biggest challenges and accomplishments. Working alongside PCL Constructors to overcome obstacles and celebrate successes the Bousada Team renovated over 40,000 sq. ft. of mall space. The stunning water-jet cut granite “NorthStar” pattern was featured in the Toronto Star and on Global Television.

    Job Details:

    • Renovation of more than 40,000 sq. ft. of open mall space
    • Complex patterns of varying sizes of large format porcelain tile
    • 8,000 sq. ft. of newly designed carpet tile
    • Intricate glass tile mosaic work on balconies
    • Water-jet cut granite in interesting shapes and details

    Project Challenges to Overcome:

    • Late night work where the tile installed needed to be walked on less than 1 hour after installation
    • Dust control was essential due to the amount of traffic in the mall
    • Intricate patterns within patterns demanded intense concentration from our Craftsmen

    Background:
