    The GAP

    Toronto, ON | Retail

    Description:

This international chain of hip retail outlets gave a national facelift to a number of its' locations. The GAP insisted on closing these locations while renovations were underway to ensure that the work completed was perfect. Stunning large format porcelain tiles, brand new hardwood and exquisite stone make for a beautiful and highly impressive renovation.

    Job Details:

    • Renovation of 5 different GAP locations
    • Over 30,000 sq. ft. of new hardwood was installed
    • 10 different types of large format porcelain tiles with intricate patterns were used
    • New carpet surrounding the cash wraps

    Project Challenges to Overcome:

    • The GAP has a very strict spec for the hardwood flooring system
    • Juggling the renovation of 3 stores at the same time

    Background:

It was the summer of 1969: Man took his first walk on the moon. Nearly 450,000 people gathered in upstate New York to witness the historic Woodstock concert and Doris and Don Fisher opened the first GAP store in San Francisco.

Today, GAP Inc. is one of the world's largest specialty retailers, with more than 3,100 stores. They operate four of the most recognized apparel brands in the world — GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy and Piperlime.
